LAC, 16, Northampton

When I first came into the care of PSA I was frightened and unsure of what my future would hold. I visited my placement in Melton street with my P. A, and found it a pleasant place,

PSA supported me to get into the doctors, dentist, opticians, and supported me in doctors appointments because I used to get really anxious and wouldn't know what to say. I now attend doctor and hospital appointments independently.

All staff that are involved in my care have helped me with transitions to reduce my anxiety and keep the home a healthy environment. When I have disagreements with other residents staff are swift to make sure the situation is handled calmly and we all have a discussion afterwards to make sure everything has been resolved and if anything needs doing they will do it.

PSA care, and the leaving care team, I would be nowhere near independent and as happy as I am now.

I have completed my care plan in the space of 5 months when the expected time of achievement was 12 months. I am incredibly proud of my progress and am forever thankful of the help and support I have received and I know how privileged I am to have got this placement.

I hope to get a job in the care industry because I’ve experienced first hand how small gestures can change a lif
